O p a l M o o n H e n n a - Using the tradition of Body Art to Beautify, Empower and Heal

Tamara Brown of Opal Moon Henna is a gifted artist who has been practicing her creativity for as long as she can remember and drawing on whoever would let her! Everything changed when she found henna, which became an opportunity to heal and empower others with lasting designs and symbols. Tamara has been a practicing henna artist who has been honing her henna skills since 1998.

Tamara has long been interested in adornment and the arts. She is very keen on working with belly dancers, fire and burlesque performers, models, costumers, make up artists and photographers to create amazing body art for spectacle, show and photography.

She is fueled by a deep-seated belief in the power of art, and specifically body art, to be used with healing. Symbols and intention can be powerful tools when dealing with personal issues, as well as both chronic and acute medical conditions.

Tamara served the HIV/AIDS community in North Carolina by providing body art on a volunteer basis at a day center, as well as at yearly retreats. She wishes to continue this in California, and to obtain funding to do this work on a larger scale within many communities: HIV/AIDS, Cancer patients, battered women. Please contact her if you feel you would like to be a part of this journey.
